Ok, so we have had them for a couple of weeks now, but only recently have some pictures of them been taken.
What am I talking about...? Well the new cats that we adopted of course. Their names are Homer and Duncan. Homer is the one at the bottom of the picture, and Duncan is at the top right.

Move Mostly Complete
9/26/03 - 2:00pm
Well, all of our belongings have been moved into the new house, and we are still in the process of trying
to sort out all the boxes, bags, and piles of items that litter each room. All domains pointing to my
servers should be up and running again now that issues with my ISP seem to have been sorted out. There was
a reduction in outgoing bandwidth, but I will have to live with that for the time being.
I am still in the process of setting up the server room, so everything may be unavailable for sporadic, short periods of time.
Not to worry, I am probably rewiring something, or modifying portions of the network.
ShadowCore is Moving
9/12/03 - 12:00am
With the impending move to the new house, I have moved the ShadowCore.com domain to another one of my servers.
This is both an effort to consolidate the server farm, and prepare for the limitations that are being encountered with the DSL line.
The good news is I will soon have a static IP address, the bad news is, I will only have one IP.
I will have to figure out some way of making the network and all my systems work with the new setup.
Also as a result of this the ShadowCore FTP Server is offline until further notice.
I don't have the disk space in the new machine to hold all of the information on the FTP server.
I will try and resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
If you see anything funny with the site, or encounter problems, let me know so I can look into it.
8/28/03 - 10:00am
Well, it is now official. The purchase of the new home is complete. Maureen and I are very excited about this change in our lives. We will be posting more pictures if I can remember to bring my camera with us next time we head over to the house. For now here is just teaser.
Update: Pictures available here.

*ARGH* - The sound of suffering
8/11/03 - 12:00pm
It was bound to happen eventually. The hard drive in my main system decided to die. Bad sectors last week, now missing data this week.
I can't even get the machine to load into Windows to attempt a repair. There is also something else funky going on since I am having trouble getting the machine to load into a Windows install. Just a blank screen, and a hard lock.
I have a replacement drive on hand, and I have a few more ideas on how I might be able to get the machine running again.
Needless to say, there may be some delay if you send me any e-mail. Between the down system, and packing to move, I am busy. So don't expect to hear back from me immediately.

Found this little gem when browsing the web earlier. Just made me laugh, one since it
is funny, and two because you have to feel bad for the person who owns the computer.
Hopefully they have flood insurance. :)

A Modern Galactic Trader?
02/25/03 - 9:45 pm
Anyone remember that great ASCII based game called "Galactic Trader" or "GAL" for short?
The Crabtree Crew might remember. I know Haplo does!!! Hours upon hours of wasted time,
borrowed accounts, slapping around n00bs, and other such fun and excitement.
Well, I had heard about Freelancer a while back and made a mental note. I finally got
my hands on the demo that was just recently released, and man am I impressed. Sure it
has Micro$oft as a publisher, but I am looking past that part. After spending an hour
or so playing, it feels just like GAL, just with fancy graphics and real time action.
Be a trader, be a cop, be a pirate! This open-ended game rocks!
Ok, enough ranting about it... Go check it out:

Surgery Was A Success!!!
01/20/03 - 12:30 am
By surgery I mean repairs to my motherboard. Sitting there watching TV one night, we were
suprised by a loud pop coming from my desk area. Upon investigating further, I noticed my
main computer was off. If any of you know me, my machines are never
off. After not getting the power to come back on, I start ripping apart the machine to find
a blown capacitor on the motherboard. Argh...
Needless to say, I didn't want to spend the $$ to replace the motherboard, so off went an order
for replacement capacitors. A week of waiting, an hour or so of desoldering and soldering,
and the cap was replaced. Plug everything back in and still power is not coming on. Argh...
Apart comes a second machine to get the power supply out of it, just for a sanity check. Yep,
guess what, the machine powers up. Damn power supply must have blown and tried to take the
rest of the machine with it.
Another day of waiting, since it was 11:00pm by the time I got this far. Off to Best Buy I go to
get another power supply. I couldn't stand waiting anymore, and I refuse to pay the jacked up
prices at CompUSA if I can avoid it. Plug in the new power supply and ...
My machine is now back up and running, solid and stable.

The Pinardi 4th
5/29/02 - 12:01 am
I was not really happy with the previous design to ShadowCore, so now I present you
with a new one that I feel much better about. Other than the new look, here are
some other changes that you may like:
- All JPG and GIF graphics (except for the Photo Gallery) have been transfered to PNG.
This should mean faster download times for the graphics. However, there are more
graphics being used in the site, so it should come out about even.
- The Clock in the navigation bar on the left is synced against the Atomic Clock. So
if you ever need the correct time, check there.
(Time displayed is EST/EDT.)
- All of the news information that was on the front page before, now can be found
on the News page. This area will hopefully be expanded soon.
- The Photo Gallery has been changed as well:
- Image name sorting is finally fixed. I missed it last time around.
- There are smaller sizes of the images available for those of you who
are using modems. The full size images are also available for those
of you who have a "phat pipe" or want the high-resolution images.
